How Resistors affects the Circuit? Analogy

(Image: Circuit with a Battery and a Resistor)

Here we can see that because of the Battery the potential is increased in the circuit, however, the Resistor is lowering the potential; ie, there is a potential drop across the resistor. The rotation of the turbine represents the value of the resistor. The height of the wall represents the potential.

Here we can see that the potential is lowered in two stages, one after another. Current remains same in the series circuit, however the voltage is divided.

(Image: Circuit with a Battery and  Resistors connected parallel)

Here we can see that the potential is lowered in a single stage, in parallel. Current is divided in a parallel circuit, however, the voltage remains the same.
